Recovery is a new way of life, and involves thinking about alcohol differently.
After a few months of abstinence, the initial rosy glow of sobriety starts to wear off and there is a real danger to forget just how bad it was while inside the addiction. We have a tendency to remember the good times and of course the great way that alcohol made us feel. In times of stress or dealing with triggers, it is easy to go back to what we know – drinking, because we mistakenly think that alcohol is the answer to everything.
Clients that have participated in any of the coaching sessions or have completed a recovery program in a treatment facility are urged to continue their recovery with the Maintenance Program. Because relapse is a very real and serious problem, maintaining your abstinence is crucial. It took years to develop your addiction and it will take more than a few months to completely recover. An aftercare program is recommended for at least 1 year if not more, although the time you decide to commit to is at your discretion. This maintenance program is designed specifically to address obstacles that are common in recovery.
A maintenance program consists of your choice of one – 50 min sessions or two – 30 min sessions each month. These are one-on-one sessions with Debbie the Coach. Some homework is involved, which is sent for Debbie to review as she coaches you along to keep your recovery positive and productive. Additional benefits include full access to Debbie’s programs including unlimited access to webinars, newest research studies, blogs, and much more.
